Pal Payasam in pressure cooker | പാൽ പായസം |Easy Milk & broken rice payasam in Cooker | Cooker kheer

 Pal Payasam | Milk payasam| Rice Kheer

 


Preparation time : 5 minutes

Cooking time : 30 minutes + 45 minutes 

Serves - 2 to 3

Ingredients:

Broken rice / nurukku ari - 1/4 cup
Milk -  3 + 1/2 cup
Sugar (granulated) -  10 Tbsp
Ghee / clarified butter -   1 Tbsp
Green cardamom (small) - 2 Nos 
Cashew nuts - 10 to 15
Raisin - 10 to 15

Method :

1. Wash broken rice with water 3 to 4 times and keep it aside.





2. Take a cooker and keep it on low heat and add milk. You have to keep the cooker on low heat through out cooking in this recipe.
 
 
 
3. Add sugar and stir continuously until the sugar dissolves completely.
 
 
 
4. Add washed broken rice and green cardamom . Mix well.
 
 
 
5. Close the lid and put on cooker whistle. 
 
 
 
6. Let the cooker  be there for 30 minutes on low heat. 


7. After 30 minutes, switch off the flame and remove the cooker from heat. Please don't bother if you don't get whistle.

 
8. Let the cooker cool down completely. After 45 minutes to 1 hour, open the lid and mix well.
 
 
 
 
9. This step is optional.  Heat ghee in a small pan and add cashew nuts. When it starts to change the color, keep the pan on low heat and add raisins. fry for 20 seconds. 
 
 
 
 
10. Add it into the payasam and mix well. close the lid for 5 minutes to absorb the flavors of ghee completely into payasam. Serve hot or chilled. Enjoy.
 
 

Note:

1. You can make 1 liter payasam with this measurements. 
 
2. Please don't fill more than 50 percent capacity of pressure cooker . Ii have used pressure cooker that has 3 liter capacity.

3. If the whistle come, switch off immediately and let the cooker cool down and open lid. Check consistency of payasam . If it's watery , Keep the cooker on medium heat and stir continuously until you reach the desired consistency.

 Pepper garlic Mushroom fry Ingredients: Butter mushroom - 200g Coconut oil / Butter - 1 Tbsp Pepper powder - 2 tsp Soy sauce - 1 tsp Garlic minced - 1 Tbsp Chopped onion - 1/2 cup Chopped capsicum - 1/4 cup Curry leaves Salt to taste   Method: 1. Into a bowl add water and mushroom . Gently clean the mushrooms . Do not soak mushroom in water for long . Drain the water completely. Place the mushrooms on a cleaned kitchen towel . Cut the mushrooms into 2 parts  if the mushrooms are big in size. 2. Into a heated pan , add coconut oil.  3. When oil heats up, add chopped onion and saute for 2 minutes. Add garlic and capsicum. Saute until the raw smell of has gone. 4. Add salt and one teaspoon of pepper powder . Add mushrooms and mix well.  Saute it for 3 minutes. 5. Add curry leaves and soy sauce. Mix well .
